I swapped in a 289 form a mustang that had a manual tranny. I am now tryng to mate up a c4 tranny to it. When bolting up the front of the torque converter is prohibiting the converter and flexplate from bolting up because it hits the back of the crank shaft. I am new to this whole thing. It seems I need a spacer to go behind the flexplate to allow room for the front of the converter to seat. can I make this work, because I read all the time of these auto tranny swaps. Can any one help with this. I'm now sitting at a stand still .

Thanks for any advice,

The torque converter goes into the crank. Be sure that you removed the pilot bushing in the end of the crank, with that removed the converter fits inside.
