I bought my bonco in Septemeber and am still getting to know her. After noticing a part I didn't recognize I reviewed the forum and think the "shock" circled in the attached photo is a stabilizer. Just looking for someone smarter than me to verify.

Thanks,

Yup, that's it. They come as singles from the factory but can be replaced by a double or triple if you prefer.

Once again, thanks Broncobill. Looks like mine is set up for 2, but it rides fine now so I don't see any advantage to adding the second one.

Depends on what you're running for rubber. In my opinion (and Lord knows my opinion is only worth what you've paid for it) a single is fine for anything under 36", get bigger than 36" or run bias-ply sneakers and a double will be helpfull. I'm really not sure if a triple is worth the expense or if it does anything other than impress guys who WISH they had big trucks but if you get up into the 40" range I suppose it could be helpfull. I've never felt the need to run anything more than a double considering how good modern shocks are but I DO know that the bias-ply tires really like to follow the ruts & grooves in the road and a double sure helps keep it from darting around more than a single does when you're running big meats but I was content to run a double with my bias 40" Ground Hawgs and those things followed EVERY groove there was. It's kinda like the difference between a double shock hoop & a triple, personally I tend to think the triples are more for show than go but I won't argue with someone else who has personal experience with them. Maybe it was the pic but it looked to me like a single mount on yours but either way if it's a little squirrley on you I'd start by upgrading to a brand name stabilizer and see how that feels, there's a good chance yours is blown out and not doing anything at all (not trying to cut down your ride, just seem to recall you saying it was new & you were unsure of it's history)
