i'm new to this side of the forum, i'm usually in the full size bronco section but this is a question for you all, if you can help me. i have an engine out a 98 or so mustang GT. its a 4.6L and i have the wiring harness and everything. i was wondering if anyone knows if it would fit in my '95 explorer that has the 4.0 V6 in it? i've put different engines in my bronco with no problem but for some reason i cannot find an explorer of the same year with a V8, i jjust want to know if i can drop it in with little or no modifications.

thanks, any help is appreciated

To put it plain and simple, yes you can fit any motor into any engine bay, the question is how much motifications you are willing to make to allow it to fit. The biggest problem you are going to run into is the upper width of the engine. These engines are wider then a 390 Big Block! some inner fender well trimming or reshaping may be in order. also if you have AC it is going to be tough to get it to fit. You may have to go to Hot Rod or Vintage Air.

I am contimplating placing a 4.6 mod from a 94 lincoln into my Bronco but I have to look into some adaptors to the Xcase.

Hope this helped ya. Good Luck!

I have a 1969 Ford Bronco with a 351W and was contemplating putting a 4.6 V8. I know its a big motor but was wondering if you did the swap. I know the post is really old just wondering if you ever did the swap.
