I.D. CODE DEFINED

B (1976-78)- Warner T-85 3speed

C- Ford-Manual 3speed

D- Warner T-89 3speed

E- Warner T-87 3speed

F- Warner T-18 4speed

A (1976-86)- New Process 435 4speed

P- Warner T-19 4speed

B (1979-86)- Clark 4speed O.D.

G- Automatic C4

W- Automatic C5

P- Automatic C6 thru 1977

K- Automatic C6 1978-86

J- Automatic FMX

T- Automatic Overdrive

This list is for 1976-86 Fullsize Broncos and F-100 thru F-350. This includes 2 and 4 wheel drive. It also covers gas and diesel engines. These trans codes are usually found on the driverside B pillar and are also on the transmission I.D. tag attached to the trans itself.

The 73'-77' Broncos used the C4 & the Bronco II's used C5's (just a C4 with a lockup TC). It's also in my 78' shop manuals with the F100 & F150 being listed as applications. I know F-trucks used C4's up till 82 or 83 but I don't think any of the big Broncos ever had one.
