this is something thats been bugging me, but it only does it in park, and once it comes down to normal idle, the problem is a little surge, like from 600-800 RPMS and then back, it doesn't do it in drive at all, plugs and wires are brand new, i don't have a vacumn leak, i checked the TPS, i don't know, its not a big deal but it annoys me sometimes

Gee... I thought that it did talk about cleaning it. Well at any rate, just pull it off and spray the moving mechanism with carb cleaner, and let it dry. I guess if you want to get fussy, you can dissassemble it and clean the moving part with carb cleaner, and the electrical part with electronic contact cleaner.

There are 2 halves to the IAB, and you can not buy just one half, but you can take it apart to clean it. But if the internal solenoid is faulty the IAB needs to be replaced."

i priced a new one out, advance has them for around 69 bucks......a relatively cheap price, and it had a 1 year limited warranty

Well I feel like a fool now
I took mine off and saw how it comes apart...
I went and cleaned it up, put it back together and put it back on the truck... Good news is my idle has stopped looping
Bad news is I now have a CEL I'm not sure that is related to the IAC cleaning because the EGR got knocked around when I was trying to remove that spring bracket. The EGR is lose now so I kinda think that is the CEL as I haven't checked the codes yet...

On this topic, mine does roughly the same thing. When I first start, it idles around 2000 rpm for a bit, but if I tap the gas, it will idle down. Once in a while, it will do the weird idle described above. The other day, it stalled and wouldn't start back up for a while. Would the IAC cause all that?

Yeah, if it is sticking. One shouldn't have to "tap the gas" like they do with a carbed engine. EFIs don't have a stepped high idle cam like a choke does.

this is a very agrevating problem i have an 89 that does the same thing and it bugs me but it an't hurting anything so oh well

If it bugs you, IMO you should take care of it. Once you do, you'll find that one realizes a certain amount of satisfaction that comes with being able to complete a task that makes the truck run better, and costs next to nothing to do.

The IAC is held on by two little bolts. Real simple to remove and clean.

I just did same; had the IAC DTC; IAC was ok, cleaned it and then saw the 2 holes in da Throttle Body were very fouled; claned em out... cause was prob the cheap (read, VERY CHEAP.. and ya get what you pay for) WAWA gas I used for about one year.

No further stalling or rough idle will occur after the engine is running. The long crank and/or stall may be due to the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve sticking. Replace the AC Valve with a revised AC Valve if no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present."
