hopefully someone that knows will chime in but that electronic shift tranny, your pcm might get lonely once its gone. Im not sure what else it will affect.

It should be a straight forward swap. I'm not sure if the torque converter is the same, but i doubt the crossmember is. You'll probably have to lengthen/shorten your driveshafts, too.
Your existing PCM will be fine. You will have to bypass the neutral safety switch, however.

I was thinking you would have computer issues because your current tranny is electronically controlled but I do believe my thinking was backwards. The C6 only needs vaccum to function so you should be fine. I have a C6 and an Aod sitting on my garage floor right now, the only other difference I noticed was the tranny cooler lines mount in different location which will require tweaking of your old ones or new ones all together. Assuming the eaod looks the same as the aod

If your going to swap from an E4OD to a C6 you must use a computer for your combination the E4OD computer will be looking for feedback from the tranny such as vehicle speed for timing adjustments so it will get lonely as stated before . The C6 and the E4OD share the same flywheel so your set there and the tranny coressmemember should have the holes already in the frame to slide it forward the E4OD is way longer than the C6 or the AOD . The shifter linkage is probably going to need some help because the length of throw is going to be wrong so youll end up with first gear and no park or the other way around same things happens when going from an AOD to a C6 . Both driveshafts will need to be changed front one is going to get shorter and rear one longer . The E4OD is a very strong tranny if you really dont have too swap it out I would have the E4OD gone through with all the 95 and latter updates and youll be set .

I agree with Blade--you'll probably be happier in the long run with an E4OD rebuilt and updated to post '95 specs.
But if you have your heart set on a C6, then I still say that you don't need to change computers.

jeffm, you might find your answer on the computer issue at www.fordfuelinjection.com I do know the t-case shifter linkage and bracket is different for the E40D and the C6, but you should be able to locate one for the B-W 13-56/ C-6 combo or modify the shift bar by shortening it.

Absolutely 100% sure on the T case , input spline the same and bolt pattern the same .

That's about what I did with my manual swap. I'm still using my E4OD computer.

GSUEagles is correct. You can use your same computer. You will have a check engine light on the dash. Now this is true if you are using a C6 with a manual valve body. Manual valve body requires that you take vacuum from your intake down to the module on the tranny. I am running a TCI Maximizer (C6) in my 93. The transfercase is not an issue they bolt right up. The computer may get lonely but it has plenty of other things to keep it busy. Oh, and taking the tranny away from the computer will not affect the running of the motor. Good luck. --Vince

On the back of the transmission on the pass. side there will be a module that uses vacuum to operate. I pull the vacuum off of my intake manifold. The other C6 option is the electronic version. Not many of those around. Usually they are special builds by individuals. Those use a computer to operate and look for shift points.
