hey guys i was wondering if it would be easier to remove the brackets to the arms instead of swinging the front axle out. i would replace the rivets with grade 8 bolts is this possible

sorry i was not really info i need to replace the bushings so i can get an alignment

I would try undoing the Radius arm bolt and try pulling the axle forward, it doesnt have to go very far. The only time I have ever had those off is stripping trucks so I was pulling the whole axle assembly out anyway.

Yes, for me it's much easier to unbolt the brackets to change the bushings. I also use Grade *8 hardware in place of the rivets, and drill the holes out to 1/2", JSM84

This may not be the safest way ( as it did not seem smart as I was doing it) but I just removed the Bolts on the back of the arms and used a porta power ( hydralic ram that extends on both ends to provide a spreading force) to push the axle assembley forwared and slip the bushings on.

When i changed my bushings i did it at work and used a lift over in the truck shop...We undid the nuts and basicly push the frnt.axle forward and changed the bushings....but when i did my son's truck it was at home and had to do them a little different...i cut x's into the rivet heads and took a good sharp cold chisel and cut them out and put grade 8 bolts back in....so you see there are a few different ways to do them it's really up to you on which way you feel comfortable in doing them....
