You should be able to get a new short block from either a dealer, auto parts store, or do a Google serch on Short Block. Another source would be from a recycler but make sure you get an engine that is declared good by them and an agreement to take it back. There may be one for sale on this forum, look at parts needed and for sale. Try Blades, he has a lot of stuff he is selling.

Good luck,

:)>-

WOW thats quite the oversize . I think for your usage id stay away from that one sometimes when the cylinder walls get that thin motors tend to run hotter definately dont need that in a 4X4 . I would check with local scrap yards theyve got to have a 351W around somewhere they were used in a ton of stuff and I think Ive seen them date back to 1969 . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

If you get a recycled 351W, stay away from the 75 - 84 blocks. They suffered a lot from cracking and very poor casting workmanship. Pre 75 and the post 84 roller blocks are the best to use.

If you get this block, be carefull going the limit with boring, the heating problem Blades is talking about could also cause it to crack. All the material I have suggests stying at .03 over.

Good luck,

A stock or standard bore 351W is 4.000 inches a 30 over block as Seabronc is suggesting would be 4.030 the block your looking at is 4.125 thats 4 times the recomended bore size, thats an extra 1/8 inch in bore size dosnt seem like much but when you think that the cylinder wall is probably around 3/8 of an inch thick and by boreing it that much your cutting its size by a third that is a very big deal . Again I would stay away from that block its for drag racers that run down the line for 10 seconds and get shut off not for a motor that is getting worked very hard in sand or mud for hours on end . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
